EFR Primary and Secondary Care
The Emergency First Response course trains everyday people to be able to provide help that can prevent death, suffering and long-term disability. The EFR course at The Indepth Dive College teaches you the steps and techniques to handle an emergency situation, by treating the ABCDs of the patient’s lifeline.
The EFR course is also a prerequisite to become a PADI Rescue Diver.
You will view a DVD and read your Emergency Response manual as preparation, before your EFR Instructor will run through the knowledge reviews with you, and then demonstrate the various EFR skills.
You will then be given time to practice the skills under instructor supervision, before a number of thought-provoking scenarios putting you in simulated emergency situations. There is also the chance to be introduced to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and Emergency Oxygen Care for which we can provide separate certification courses.
On our EFR course we use Adult, Child and Infant Leardal mannequins along with proper and complete First Aid kits for the best possible simulation and scenario practice.
