The PADI Diver Training System
The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) is the world’s largest diver training organization. The PADI system runs courses right from beginner level to Instructor Trainer level. It is supported by the most comprehensive collection of training aids, manuals and member support. The word PADI has become synonymous with a scuba diving certification.
Recognizing the need to keep divers interested in diving and always have a new challenge, the PADI System includes in it a number of options and paths for the diver to go down. Specialty diver courses cater for the diver with certain interests, whilst those who want to turn professional can go down the Divemaster and Instructor paths. Rescue diver is an essential part of diver training for all and PADI awards recognition to those who progress their education with the Master Scuba Diver rating, ‘the Black Belt’ of scuba diving.
Indepth Dive College (IDC) offer all PADI courses here in Phuket from Discover Scuba Diving up to IDC Staff Instructor level. This is with the exception for a couple of courses ice diving, altitude diving and dry-suit diving (the water here is tropical warm).
