The PADI Rescue Diver Course
Yes It is time for some “Serious” fun ... !!!
Do you want to be able to help people?
Do you want to be a more aware diver underwater and be able to respond to and help other diver problems?
If YES then it sounds like the PADI Rescue Diver Course is for you. The course teaches you the fundamental knowledge and skills to effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render the appropriate First Aid.
The course is run over three days with the first day being a quick run over of the knowledge development and theory before going to the pool for the confined water training. The remaining 2 days are open water scenarios conducted off both the boat and beach, to give you all types of Rescue Scenario Training.
The course consists of 10 exercises in Confined Water and Open Water that culminates in 2 Rescue Scenarios combining the various exercises into realistic rescue scenarios.
These are usually run over two days following a day of Knowledge Development and Pool work.
Exercises include: panicked diver on the surface, tired diver on the surface, distressed diver underwater, missing diver, surfacing the unconscious diver, egress with the unconscious diver etc
Prior to Knowledge Two you will also need to have successfully completed the Emergency First Response Primary / Secondary Care course or a sanctioned program in CPR and First Aid within the past two years - which we will schedule for you if you do not already have it.
The dive sites around Phuket are great for a PADI Rescue Diver course as they can provide a good number of conditions to complete your training and give it a realistic vibe.
This course is testing and fun and described by most divers throughout the PADI system as the most rewarding course that they have taken.
The PADI Rescue Diver certification is also a prerequisite for all PADI leadership programs.
