The PADI Scuba Diver course is part of the main PADI Open Water Diver course and results in a certification, which allows you to dive under the supervision of a PADI professional. This course is perfect for those who have not got the time to complete the full Four Day PADI Open Water Course certification, or those who simply always want to dive under supervision. It is GREAT for those who want to take things slowly as they can take this course and still scuba dive and those who are on holiday and perhaps short of money and so can become full PADI Open Water Divers in two steps not one ....
The Scuba Diver certification can also be counted as a referral towards a full PADI Open Water Diver certification !!
Phuket is a great place to learn to dive, with sheltered scuba diving dive sites and a wide variety of amazing marine life all close by or in places right off the beach !!
There are also fantastic opportunities for divers to expand their dive experience with wall dives, wreck dives, drift dives and more for divers to experience here in Thailand.
The course is broken into three segments over the 2 days.
Knowledge Development: This consists of reading the PADI Open Water Diver manual, watching the PADI Open Water Diver DVD and taking some simple quizzes in the classroom with your PADI Instructor going over anything that you do not understand completely.
There is also the option for those who just want to get into the water quicker when they come here, to do the PADI eLearning option when you watch the videos and read the manual segments online, whilst being able to go over difficulties with the instructor via web communication ....
.... this is a particularly good option for those who might be pressed for time and want to learn diving and so you can start the course from the comfort of your own home BEFORE you even arrive in Thailand !!!
Confined Water Training: Now you are in the water!
The PADI Confined Water Dives are done in a local diver-training swimming pool. In this session you will learn the basic skills to dive with SCUBA safely, and various troubleshooting techniques. Being in the pool allows you to comfortably learn the skills in a safe environment with no outside factors such as visibility and current.
Open Water Dives: The PADI Open Water Training Dives consist of one day on the boat where you will do PADI Open Water Dives One and Two from The PADI Open Water Diver course. On these dives you will run through some of the scuba diving skills that you mastered in the pool before going on a tour of the reef, which will most likely be at Koh Racha Yai or Koh Phi Phi dive site due to their suitability for beginner diver training.
On this section of the course you are doing what you came to do ..... scuba diving in sea or open water ..... seeing the fantastic and mysterious underwater world and experiencing that new sensation of being weightless.
Very few people ever look back after their first open water experience and are thirsty for more ....
As a PADI Scuba Diver you are now certified for life to dive with under the supervision of a PADI professional.
By the way - all you need to do to Upgrade to "PADI Full Open Water Diver" is to complete the last two days of the PADI Open Water Course … !!!
…. or you can happily remain a PADI Scuba Diver and still dive under supervision whenever you wish !!
