The Emergency First Response Care for Children course teaches you CPR and First Aid for treating Infants and Children and allows participants to learn and practice emergency care skills. Knowledge and skills are introduced in simple steps so that you will find easy to remember and use should you be faced with a child in need.
The course is still split into Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) and still follows internationally approved ILCOR Guidelines.

Is there a child in your care who needs help?
The Emergency First Response Care for Children course may be conducted as a stand-alone program or taught in conjunction with Primary Secondary Care (Adults) and is designed for people who are regularly in contact with infants and children such as parents , teachers, coaches, babysitters and childminders, nursery caregivers to give just a few examples.
Your courses starts with you reading the Care for Children manual and filling out the usual Knowledge Reviews before you some to class, watching the DVD and then your Instructor will go through the knowledge reviews with you before they demonstrate the Care for Children Primary and Secondary Care skills for Children (one to eight years old) and Infants (less than one year old).
Your Instructor with then demonstrate each skill for you and you will then practice the skills with your fellow students to assure mastery giving you plenty of time as to ask questions and repeat skills as necessary. When the initial Skills have been mastered your Instructor will then take you through some Emergency Scenario practice where you will show your understanding of the knowledge and skills you have learnt.
On our EFR courses we use Adult, Child and Infant Leardal mannequins along with proper and complete First Aid kits for the best possible simulation and scenario practice as well as providing AED Training on AED simulators.

For you PADI Scuba Divers: current CPR and First Aid is a requirement for the PADI Rescue Diver Course and the Emergency First Response Course are an excellent way to meet these requirements!
