This two day evaluative program is conducted by Examiners from PADI and evaluates your readiness to start teaching PADI Scuba Diving Courses as an entry-level PADI Instructor.
To enter the IE you need to have completed an entire IDC / OWSI course within the past 12 months and have logged 100 dives. if you have successfully completed our Indepth IDC with Chris you will find that there is absolutely nothing new expected of you here!
You will have 5 Dive Theory exams: Physics, Physiology, The Recreational Dive Planner, Equipment, General Skills and The Diving Environment – YES – exactly the same topics as on your Indepth IDC Prep and IDC.
One PADI Standards Exam covering EXACTLY the same material as the two Standards Exams you did on your Indepth IDC.
One Prescriptive Knowledge Development Teaching Presentation - YES - EXACTLY the same as you did on your Indepth IDC.
One Confined Water Teaching Presentation with one skill either from the Open Water Diver Course or Rescue Diver Course - YES - EXACTLY the same as you practiced on your Indepth IDC.
You will have a skill circuit of 5 skills taken from the PADI Skill circuit performed during your Indepth IDC Prep and IDC.
One Open Water Teaching Presentation of 2 skills from the Open Water Course or a Continuing Education Course (Adventures or Rescue etc) - YES - EXACTLY the same as you did on your PADI Indepth IDC!
You will do a demonstration of Exercise #7 from the PADI Rescue Diver Course, using Mouth to Pocket Mask or Mouth to Mouth – yes you guessed it - EXACTLY as you did during your Indepth IDC Prep and IDC.
Once successful, candidates will be certified as PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSI) and be qualified to teach courses from Open Water up to Divemaster.
That’s it Folks … the program is pass or fail.
