PADI IDC Training Facilities: Purpose Built Training Pool and Classrooms

We conduct all our PADI scuba diving training, both PADI Instructor and PADI recreational levels, at our PADI 5* Instructor Development Center, Indepth Dive College (IDC) S-36108, which is located in Phuket, Chalong, Thailand with Classrooms and Training Pool within 5 mintues walk of each other.

The Dive Resort was built specifically and designed to cater for divers and their accommodation, equipment and course training needs.

The centre piece of the resort is the purpose built scuba training pool.

The pool has three depths; the shallowest end by the water fall is 1.2m, moving into deeper water towards the “drop off” is 1.6m. Next to this is a vertical wall of 3m which is absolutely perfect for training students realistically in skills like ascents and descents, equalizing, neutral buoyancy exercises like hovering etc which is simply impossible in the shallow 2m pools or less, normally found in Phuket and Thailand.

For PADI IDC candidates this is not only a perfect pool for PADI Open Water Course training but it also allows realistic practice of PADI Rescue Diver exercises like underwater approaches, and also assignments like rigging lift bags from the PADI Search and Recovery Course all of which are Open Water skills which you can expect at the PADI IE.

Within 5 minutes walk of the PADI IDC Accommodation and scuba diving training pool is located our new purpose built PADI IDC Dive School equipted with state of the art digital classrooms, retail shop and equipment storage and rental area.

The PADI IDC classrooms are complete with LCD projector, computer, projector screen, white board, video, TV, and offer full multimedia support. Our PADI libraries complete with all the latest PADI, DAN, EFR and DSAT digital products are also located here and all candidates are very much encouraged to make the most of these.

Also onsite here is an area where you can wash your equipment and safely store it during your time with us.

Tanks, compressor and EANx blending station are located in another facility 5 minutes away which ensures the peace and quiet you want for your training with no compressor “running in the background" … and don’t worry … you won’t have to carry your tanks back and forth as they are delivered and collected daily

For the PADI IDC Open Water training we take you to Kata Beach, 15 minutes away, as this is where the PADI IE will be conducted.

It’s nice to be familiar with the PADI IE location and logistics.

These sites are ideal for PADI IDC training and are also used for a variety of local PADI Specialty Instructor Training programs after the PADI IDC.
