PADI Rescue Diver Classroom & Underwater Teaching
First of all we will start with a quick review of the Knowledge Reviews and course theory. When you are happy with that you will head off to the pool for your confined water Pool Dives. You will learn a variety of new skills and practice different kinds of rescues. Before the end of the course you to pass The Rescue Diver Final Exam. The next 2 days you will repeat these skills again in the Open Water. Finally you will finish off with 2 Rescue Diving Scenarios conducted off both boat and beach in order to give you experience in both situations.
You have a total of 10 in-water skills including: Panicked Diver and Tired Diver on the surface. Exercise Four Distressed Diver underwater. As well as Missing Diver, Surfacing the Unconscious Diver and Egress with the Unconscious Diver.
Before certification you will also need to have successfully completed the Emergency First Response Primary / Secondary Care course. Or another recognized CPR and First Aid course within the past two years. As a result most people do this course combined with their PADI Rescue Diver Course. And you also have the option of combining the PADI Emergency Oxygen Specialty Course along side your Rescue Diver Course. This Rescue Diver package makes for a very stimulating and comprehensive program.
