Or another way to look at it is that the PADI Adventure Dive you have completed is exactly the same as the PADI Specialty Course with the same name. So on your PADI Adventure Diver Course you have actually taken 2 Specialty Course dives! Congratulations!!Consequently you are also now only TWO Dives away from the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification. To become Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver you need to complete another two PADI Adventure Dives therefore giving you the minimum 5 Adventure Dives. Please note that there are two core dives you must do: Deep Adventure Dive and also Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive.PADI Specialty Diver courses go into much more detail and also have more scuba dives in the Specialty Diver area that interests you. For example if you have taken the PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx / Nitrox) Adventure Dive then you would therefore only need to do 1 more dive to be certified as a PADI EANx Specialty Diver.
